Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller is back again with a new post over at his official webpage where he talks a bit about THE UNBORN being rated PG-13 and how he tried to make a film scary without using buckets of blood. So head on over to the blog post and leave some feedback, now is the time to let your voice be heard! THE UNBORN hits theaters everywhere this Friday from Rogue Pictures.
The first batch of glorious stills from Jon Harris' The Descent: Part II have found their way online and can be viewed beyond the break! It looks as if we'll have some new creatures joining in on the fun. The sequel written by James Watkins (Eden lake) will continue the story of Sarah, who as the only survivor of an all-female caving expedition gone horrifically wrong, suffers severe psychological trauma. Unable to speak, she accompanies a rescue team back to the cave, but events once again take a sinister turn. ...Read More
The second clip from Lionsgate's My Bloody Valentine 3D is now available for viewing inside and features TWILIGHT star Edi Gathegi, who receives a potentially gruesome package. If you missed the first clip it can be found here. The film rolls in 3-D to 900+ theaters on January 16th, everywhere else will hit the viewer with the lackluster 2-D version. In the remake Tom (Jensen Ackles) returns to his hometown on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine's night massacre that claimed the life of 22 people. Instead of a homecoming, Tom finds himself suspected of committing the murders. ...Read More

Thanks to B-D reader 'Lucas' we might have our hands on the teaser trailer for Filmax's REC 2, the Spanish sequel to the incredible REC, which was already remade here in the States by Screen Gems as QUARANTINE. If this is in fact legit, it's one of the best 'short' teasers I have ever seen - you can watch it by heading over to BDTV. The same talented directors (Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza) stick to the same claustrophobic concept in REC 2, but find new means of transferring fear from the screen to the spectator through the recording lens. ...Read More
Our good friend 'Chuck E.' just sent us the latest casting breakdown for Rob Zombie's H2, which begins shooting this month in Los Angeles (or maybe Georgia?) for release on August 28th. While it doesn't confirm any returning names, it does give some idea into what the film is about and reveals multiple murder sequences. Get your hard hat on and get ready for some spoilers. The new film picks up right as the first remake ended, following the aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted. ...Read More

When Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN remake was announced, one of the biggest pieces of news was that Danielle Harris would be returning to Haddonfield as she'd end up starring (and taking her top off) as Annie Brackett, one of Laurie Strode's friends. Harris was best known in the horror community as little Jamie Lloyd - Michael Myers' niece - in both 20th Century Fox's HALLOWEEN 4: THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS and HALLOWEEN 5: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS. We learned this evening that Harris is in final talks to join the cast of H2, or HALLOWEEN II if you will. She is the latest name circling the project alongside Scout Taylor-Compton, Malcolm McDowell (signed for three films), Daeg Faerch and Sheri Moon Zombie. Tyler Mane (Michael) is the only confirmed name thus far. What do you guys think Zombie will be doing with Harris? The film hits theaters August 28th, 2009. ...Read More

In addition, you'll find another new image featuring stars Elizabeth Banks, Arielle Kebbel and Emily Browning. Directed by Tom and Charlie Guard, the film arrives in theaters January 30th. Watch this spot for interviews from the set in the coming week. ...Read More
One of the most alked about films at last year's AFM was Joel Anderson's Lake Mungo, which tells the story of a teenager whose apparent death sets off a series of paranormal events. Frightened by what appears to be otherworldly activity, her family discovers secrets about their daughter as well as what lurks beneath Lake Mungo. The film was shot in a sort of faux-documentary style and can be sampled when you check out the official promo traler over at BDTV. We'll keep you posted on release plans while Paramount Vantage works on remaking the film.
After more than two months of negotiations, Relativity Media has officially closed a deal to buy Rogue Pictures from Universal Pictures for roughly $150 million. The deal includes all of Rogue's titles, most of which are horror films. You can read about the entire deal inside, especially since it concerns the future of films such as Wes Craven's 25/8 and the long-gestured HACK/SLASH (come on already!) adaptation. ...Read More
Ok, seriously, why even watch the movie? If you click on over to Russian website Kinopoisk, you can check out a disgusting 198 images from Lionsgate's Kill Theory, which revolves around a group of close friends who visit a remote vacation home to celebrate their college graduation. While there, they are put to a horrifying test by a mysterious killer who forces them into a game where they have to kill each other in order to survive. Directed by Chris Moore, horror vet Agnes Bruckner stars. Hopefully this sucker will get a multi-region DVD release overseas while Lionsgate decides what to do with it here in the States. I know I won't be waiting... (Thanks to Joey M. and Emily C. for the link). ...Read More
KFC Cinema has posted a slew of new images from Park Chan-wook's Thirst, only their forum is locked and none of us are able to see them. Fortunately, one of the images is available for viewing and can be found beyond the break. The story finds Korea's leading man, Song Kang-ho, as a much-loved priest who becomes a vampire after a failed medical experiment; he becomes a tortured and depraved soul. Title refers to a craving for sex, blood and love. CJ is pitching the pic as a love story with horror and drama. Focus Feature will release the Korean film here in the States this year. ...Read More
Holy crap are they moving fast or what? This morning Rob Zombie posted a sneak peak at the brand new mask for Michael Myers, which will be worn once again by Tyler Mane. "FX master Wayne Toth is back to work creating the latest and greatest version of Michael Myers for H2, Zombie writes. "Here is an exclusive sneak peek at some early pics of the mask in it's clay sculpt form. If you thought Michael was f*cked before, you ain't seen nothing yet! He is bigger, meaner and more psycho than Dr. Loomis ever thought possible." H2 (Halloween II) hits theaters August 28th, 2009 from Dimension Films. ...Read More

Watch for official casting news as it comes in. Tyler Mane is the only confirmed cast member returning as he'll once again rock the mask of the infamous Michael Myers. In other news, Zombie's action film Tyrannosaurus Rex has officially been pulled off Dimensions' release slate (obviously).
This evening we got our hands on the Japanese one sheet for Patrick Lussier's My Bloody Valentine 3D, which arrives in theaters January 16th. While it's still a pretty cool poster, it looks more like DVD art than something you'd see in a theater. Check it out beyond the break, which do you prefer? In the remake Tom (Jensen Ackles) returns to his hometown on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine's night massacre that claimed the life of 22 people. Instead of a homecoming, Tom finds himself suspected of committing the murders. ...Read More

I wonder why Paramount Pictures doesn't just send the movie to DVD, it's obvious that there's no fixing Case 39, Christian Alvart's follow-up to ANTIBODIES that has been collecting dust for over two years now. While the film was included in our 2009 preview piece with a release of April 10 planned, Paramount announced today that they have pulled the film off the 2009 radar completely. The film, which was to "redefine" Paramount at one point, centers on an idealistic social worker (Zellweger) who saves an abused 10-year-old girl from her parents only to discover that things are not as they appear. ...Read More
